Candace Owens is sleeping with one eye open as she dramatically accused the French government of plotting to kill her, amid mounting tensions between her and the French first couple following her defamation lawsuit.

Owens, 36, took to X early Saturday morning to peddle a conspiracy theory, claiming that Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, have orchestrated and funded an assassination plot against her, while also allegedly threatening French journalist Xavier Poussard.

The Republican commentator and Poussard have loudly been promoting a conspiracy theory that Brigitte, 72, was actually born a man. The claim birthed a defamation lawsuit against Owens filed by the French couple in a Delaware court.
