A top Kremlin mouthpiece and key ally of Vladimir Putin has unveiled a chilling long-term blueprint for Europe, openly declaring that Moscow’s goal should be to spark “as many wars as possible” to fracture the continent. State television propagandist Vladimir Solovyov, speaking on his radio show “Full Contact”, outlined a stark vision for Russia’s expansionist dreams that extend far beyond the borders of Ukraine. In a chilling broadcast translated by Russian Media Monitor, Solovyov argued that Russia must abandon non-interference policies and actively work to break up European unity, aiming to create a fragmented landscape of small, weakened states stretching all the way to the Atlantic Ocean.
Addressing viewers on state television, Solovyov insisted that a united Europe poses an inherent threat to Moscow’s geopolitical standing and called for direct action to destabilise the bloc. “Do we need a united Europe? No. We don’t need a united Europe, because nothing good ever came to us out of a united Europe,” Solovyov claimed. “We are interested solely in the kind of Europe that is made up of nation states. The smaller these nation states are, the better.”
He urged the Kremlin to deploy all tools available – from soft power to direct military intervention – to block European integration efforts. He declared: “Our goal is that within Europe there would be as many wars and problems as possible.”
While acknowledging immediate Russian objectives in Ukraine – including pushing across the Dnipro River toward Transnistria to strip Ukraine of its geopolitical value – Solovyov warned that Moscow’s ambitions will not end there. Solovyov laid out a sweeping trajectory for Russian expansion.
He outlined plans to forge a land corridor through to the Kaliningrad exclave and establish heavily controlled “buffer zones” across the Baltics. Over a period of 15 to 20 years, he envisioned turning the Baltic Sea into an “internal Russian sea”, ultimately aiming to fragment Western Europe into a series of “disjointed, weakened states” stretching all the way to the Atlantic Ocean.
According to Solovyov, any military clash involving a European-led defence alliance – a scenario he dubbed “NATO 3.0” without US involvement – would represent the “most convenient” conflict for Moscow.
The broadcast took a darker turn when Solovyov described Russia as a “breathing empire” in a phase of inevitable territorial expansion. He argued that Moscow must build a massive Eurasia-wide military-political alliance with China, North Korea and Belarus to counter the West.
