President Donald Trump was on hand to give out medals and handshakes to both the winners and losers of Sunday’s World Cup final at MetLife Stadium as Spain beat Argentina, 1-0.

But at least one player seemed to want nothing to do with the president.

Argentina’s Cristian Romero received his medal from FIFA President Gianni Infantino for his team’s second-place finish in the tournament.

He shook Infantino’s hand, then skipped right past Trump on the receiving line:

Romero also initially skipped past Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, who was standing after Trump in the receiving line, and shook the hand of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Sheinbaum is about 9 inches shorter than Romero, and it seemed he didn’t spot her at first. When he did, he turned back to shake her hand as well.

He didn’t do that for Trump.

It’s unclear whether Romero was sending a political message, or if it was an unintentional snub in a fast-moving line during an emotional moment, given that his team just lost the championship match to Spain.

Trump was also turned slightly away as Romero approached to get a medal for the next player, and it’s possible the player just kept moving. However, he appears to be the only one who didn’t shake Trump’s hand.

Trump had another awkward moment a few minutes later: After presenting the trophy to Spain, he stood with the players at the start of their celebration until Infantino came back and helped him off the stage.
