US President Donald Trump will interview Rick Rieder, BlackRock’s chief investment officer of global fixed income, as a potential candidate to become the next chairman of the Federal Reserve. The interview is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 15, at the White House, sources told FOX Business.
When asked on CNBC about a possible interview with Trump on Thursday, Rieder did not confirm the meeting, but said, “All I will say is, I’ve seen a bunch of the stories that have been out today in the press. They seem reasonably accurate.”
According to FOX Business, this will be the fourth and final interview of candidates to replace Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, whose term as chairman ends on May 15.
