Video: Donald Trump’s Announces War on Iran, February 28, 2026
President Donald Trump announced “major combat operations” in Iran by the United States and Israel on Saturday, aimed at “eliminating eminent threats from the Iranian regime.”
“For 47 years, the Iranian regime has chanted ‘Death to America’ and waged an unending campaign of bloodshed and mass murder, targeting the United States, our troops and innocent people in many, many countries,”
Smoke was seen rising from the capital Tehran, with first strikes appearing to hit areas around the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. More strikes have been reported nationwide by Iranian media.
In a video released by the White House Saturday, Trump repeated his sentiment that Iran could never have a nuclear weapon, saying the country “had rejected every opportunity to renounce their nuclear ambitions, and we can’t take it any more.”
Trump also directly addressed the people of Iran, saying, “the hour of your freedom is at hand.”
“America is backing you with overwhelming strength and devastating force.
Now is time to seize control of your destiny and to unleash the prosperous and glorious future that is close within your reach. This is the moment for action. Do not let it pass.”
