We’ve just heard from Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who said Russia used almost 500 drones and 40 missiles in strikes on Kyiv – with attacks “still ongoing”.

“The main target is Kyiv: energy and civilian infrastructure… Rescuers are looking for a person under the rubble,” he wrote in a post on social media.

“In some areas of the capital and the region, there is no electricity supply [or] heating.”

While “Russian representatives” have “long conversations” with the US, he said the “daggers and shaheeds are speaking for them”.

Pressure on Moscow, he says, is “still insufficient”.

Zelenskyy is due to meet with Trump tomorrow to discuss plans for peace, with a 20-point in the works (see our 8am post for more on that).

But in his post, he accused Putin and Russia of not wanting “to end the war and… trying to use every opportunity to inflict more pain on Ukraine”.
