Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayA straw poll taken at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest over the weekend revealed how members of the conservative group feel toward President Donald Trump’s inner circle and who they favored the least.
“There are bright dividing lines in the conservative movement right now, so we wanted to get clarity on where the base is on these hot-button issues in Turning Point Action’s official AmericaFest 2025 straw poll,” TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet told Fox News Digital.
“We wanted to get a real read on where the base is at after Charlie’s assassination, and a few things really jump off the page,” he continued, referencing the September death of Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk.
In the straw poll, an unscientific method of quickly gauging opinions, attendees at the conservative youth convention expressed the greatest support for Pete Hegseth. Over 83% of respondents “strongly approve” of the defense secretary’s job performance.
Among others who garnered high approval ratings: Health Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. (80.8%), Secretary of State Marco Rubio (78.6%) and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem (72.8%).
On the flip side, Attorney General Pam Bondi earned strong approval from just 32.9% of those polled. With 15.6% “somewhat disapproving” of her job performance and 13.4% “strongly disapproving.”
Blake Neff, a producer on “The Charlie Kirk Show,” noted “Bondi is the only member to have disapproval in the double digits.”

Kolvet told the outlet AmFest attendees “harbor skepticism” about the Department of Justice.
Turning Point USA’s poll comes amid major scrutiny over the Trump administration’s handling of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s case documents. The conservative campaign to release the files drew pushback from the president and Bondi’s DOJ in Trump’s second term.
The administration eventually released a portion of the files on Friday, many of which were heavily redacted. On Tuesday, the Justice Department released a new batch of documents, including an email from a New York prosecutor that alleges Trump flew on Epstein’s private jet more than investigators were aware.
