President Donald Trump’s bizarre coin toss at the 126th Army-Navy NCAA college football game has sparked a tsunami of jokes on social media — and a heaping amount of criticism.

On Saturday, Trump continued a long-running tradition for sitting U.S. presidents by attending the matchup. While at the game at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium, he took the field to participate in the ceremonial pregame coin toss, and viewers couldn’t help but notice that something was atypical about the right-wing leader’s toss.

During the coin toss, Trump appeared to haphazardly throw the coin into the air instead of flicking it. Without actually spinning, the coin landed on the grass before the president bizarrely pointed at it. The coin ultimately landed on tails, giving the Army Black Knights the advantage.

Social media users on X, formerly Twitter, had a lot to say about Trump’s unconventional toss.

“Trump with one of the worst coin tosses I’ve seen lmao,” one person wrote.

Another said, “Threw it up like he was attempting a lay up, i’m dead.”

“I know it’s just a coin toss, but that form was terrible. You flip it with your thumb. That looked like he was throwing a dead fish,” a separate X user commented.

Someone else joked that Trump’s faux pas “probably would have made a fantastic toss in a game of cornhole.”

“It looked like he thought it was a bird that was supposed to fly away,” another added.

One X user argued, “It’s actually possible he doesn’t understand how coin tosses work.”

“If he was releasing a dove that would’ve been PERFECT!!!” someone else quipped.

The White House didn’t immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

En route to the Army-Navy game, Trump teased that he wouldn’t reveal who he was rooting for in the battle between the military branches.

“Getting ready to land at Fort McHenry for my short drive to the Army-Navy Game,” he wrote in a Truth Social post. “Everyone is asking who am I supporting, Army or Navy? My answer is: ‘You must be joking if you think I’m going to give you that answer!’”
