Although reports suggest many Americans have ongoing uncertainty over the direction of the American economy, Trump apparently doesn’t share that opinion.
In fact, Trump gave himself glowing grades for how he’s handled the economy in a Politico interview published Monday. Really glowing. To the point where it seemed as if he was in an alternate reality from many Americans.
“A-plus,” Trump said, to which Burns responded skeptically.
The president then decided the grade wasn’t good enough and engaged in a bit of grade inflation.
“A+++++,” he insisted.
Trump also dismissed concerns after reporter Dasha Burns said that letting Obamacare subsidies expire would make Christmas harder for many Americans.
“Don’t be dramatic,” he admonished her twice.
Considering that Trump seems to say and do things to protect his ego, it’s no wonder his insistence that he deserves an “A” on the economy ― sorry, “A+++++” ― left many people on social media finding his claim dubious.
Very dubious.
