Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDonald Trump was mocked on social media Tuesday after he giddily posted about rapper Lil Wayne supporting his controversial White House ballroom plans.
The rapper discussed the ballroom last week on the “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast and admitted he thought it was a good idea.
“I’m so glad to hear Trump say — when they was mad at him about building the ballroom — and he was like, because everything we do, we have to do it on the damn lawn,” he said. “So people who don’t know nothin’ hearin’ that, thinkin’ he just bein’ Trump — no, for real, I was glad to hear him saying that.”
Lil Wayne was one of the performers who commemorated the 50th anniversary of hip-hop at the vice presidential residence in September 2023, an event spearheaded by then-Vice President Kamala Harris. On the podcast, he said that performing on the lawn left him wondering, “What is this, a backyard barbecue?”

Trump’s ballroom construction, which has demolished the East Wing of the White House, has been heavily criticized for a variety of reasons, not least because Trump reneged on his promise that the project would be entirely privately funded.
So it seems the president is desperate for any sign of public support for the boondoggle, er, ballroom — especially when it comes from a noted architecture critic a musician whose 2020 federal weapons charge he pardoned in 2021.
Many people were taken aback by how much Lil Wayne’s ballroom approval seemed to mean to Trump.
I’m glad architecture historian Lil Wayne finally gave his opinion.

— Joan Wendland (@BandCgames) July 28, 2026Lil Wayne is a reactionary who denounced the BLM movement, saying “I don't know nothing about that, what they're talking about… Don't get mad cause I'm rich and I don't see none of that.”
Wayne also received a pardon from Trump in January 2021 on a federal weapons charge. https://t.co/Gsmps9lKkq
