In the scientific community, there is still a lot of doubt in the face of extraordinary claims. Structuring of the sea bottom can be created by geological processes in surprisingly structured formations. The experts warn of hasty speculations on an abolished city, without any reliable proof.

Scientists and explorers are still studying the oceans and are hoping to continue to gain more knowledge by using the technology in the future. This one may be natural or historical, but it serves as a testament to the amount of Earth’s history yet to be uncovered under the ocean surface.

The site was first found in a sonar survey in the early 2000s and identified by symmetrical, grid-like structures on the ocean floor. Its unusual patterns immediately caught the eye and some people conjectured that it might be of anthropogenic origin under the sea.

The images and sonar readings indicate possible shapes such as pyramids, roads and large blocks. The geometric shapes seem very well organized, and some scholars have proposed that they may be fragments of an underwater settlement.

Research is very costly and technically difficult at the extreme depth of the site. Due to low visibility and pressure conditions, very few exploratory missions have been made, and there are many unknowns still to be answered.

The forms may be natural rocks that have been formed over thousands of years, some geologists say. Patterns can be caused by underwater erosion or tectonic activity, and can sometimes look man-made in some cases.
