The world doesn’t get any less crazy, it seems. If anything it’s spiralling even further into chaos.

There was me thinking that we’d peaked with female penises, but it seems that was just the appetiser.

Not literally. Or maybe literally. I ain’t judging.

But either way, the days of newspaper articles reporting how “she had taken out her penis”, and that beng the craziest thing in the paper that day, seem a very long time ago, now.

Of course, that is all by design.

We’re an adaptable species, so in order for the insanity to have the same destabilising effect, it needs to be more shocking, more damaging, and more irrational.

With the United States chaos agent in chief calling the shots, at least publicly, we have been descending into the abyss for some time now.

War, death and economic destruction are the everyday reality we have grown to expect every time we pick up  the tv remote, or scroll through the trending posts on social media.

Order out of chaos, the new normal, build back better, are all phrases for the phase that is due to come next.

If you want the old world order to become the new world order, you need to destroy the old, and sell the new as the cure for the chaos that has filled the vacuum.

Donald Trump, while far from the only chaos agent in circulation, is probably the most obvious and elevated one of them.

We’re told he is the leader of the free world, the most powerful man on earth, and while I don’t believe for a second that either of those two statements are true, they do afford him a status from which his chaos agency has the most impact.

The war that no one wants continues to rage on, and with it the cost of everything continues to rise.

The global population, already struggling to afford basic necessities like something to eat, or something to heat, are now being asked to part with even more money they don’t have, simply for the privilege of not dying.

See that’s the thing with ‘the cost of living crisis’ we hear so much about. It’s a complete misnomer.

It isn’t a cost of living crisis at all. It’s not that people can no longer afford to give their children cello lessons, or will now only be able to do a long weekend at Disneyland Paris, as the usual week long break is now out of budget.

It’s a cost of not dying crisis, and will only get worse as the conflicts in Iran, Ukraine, and China to come, take their toll on every single part of our everyday lives.

If the fuel doesn’t get through, or becomes unaffordable, then every single business in the chain of food creation and distribution becomes worse off, and passes on the additional costs to the next in line, ending up with the consumer. AKA, you and me.

In 2025, before the ill-fated attack on Iran, 31% of children in Britain were living in poverty.

4.5 million children, in a nation that boasts 156 billionaires, aren’t guaranteed a full belly and a warm place to sleep.

This is in a nation that we’re told is the sixth richest country on the planet.
