Introduction
This petition was launched about a week ago and has already collected more than 3,000 signatures from within Switzerland. By the end of April 2026, we expect to have at least 10,000 signatures.

BENE.Swiss has also created an International Federation for Neutrality Organizations (IFNO). We strongly believe neutrality is a precursor for peace and possibly a condition for peace.
So far we have identified about two dozen neutrality organizations worldwide. There are probably many more. If they are interested in joining the IFNO, we would like to invite them to get in touch with us via our website https://bene.swiss/.
Therefore, the more such organizations exist and stand for neutrality, the stronger our collective quest for peace – the future of our planet and our children and our children’s children. In collectivity and solidarity lays our strength.
Thank you for committing to neutrality and the principles of peace and neutrality.
Peter Koenig,
Member of the BENE Council

In light of the fact
- that the United States, the leading power of NATO, is waging a war of aggression against Iran in violation of international law,
- that this unprovoked war of aggression is being endorsed by European NATO member states,
- and that some EU and NATO member states have offered their support in this war in violation of international law,
we demand that the Swiss Federal Council
- immediately suspend all cooperation with NATO and the EU’s military structures regarding exercises, data exchange, the transport of military goods, and participation in arms programs
- terminate relevant treaties without delay
- immediately withdraw the “Swiss Security Strategy 2026” and repeal measures already implemented
- to ensure that the conflict is placed on the agenda of the UN Security Council in accordance with Article 35 of the Charter of the United Nations.
Even though the war of aggression against Iran is the responsibility of the U.S. and Israel, NATO and EU structures are nonetheless logistically involved in this flagrant violation of international law or explicitly or tacitly condone it.
As a neutral state, Switzerland must not participate in the military activities of belligerent states, either as a guest or as a “partner” (as stated in the “Swiss Security Strategy 2026”), especially when these states disregard international law and commit war crimes such as precision missile strikes on schools, hospitals, and the Red Crescent.
Switzerland must immediately restore its neutral status and mobilize its efforts to prevent further suffering and restore the principles of international law—both publicly and through diplomatic channels.
BENE.Swiss – BENE is the German acronym and stands for Bewegung für eine Neutrale Schweiz (Movement for a Neutral Switzerland). BENE is relatively young, has some 500 active members and growing. Our goal is to bring Switzerland back to her roots, to her DNA, a neutral country. While holding neutral tendencies since 1515, Swiss neutrality was officially ratified by the Congress of Vienna in 1815 , by the Great Powers (France, Prussia, Russia, UK) following Napoleon’s defeat, establishing the “perpetual neutrality”. This established the foundation for Switzerland’s “good offices,” allowing it to act as a neutral mediator in international conflicts, facilitate negotiations, and represent diplomatic interests.
Switzerland has recently been drifting to the war alliance NATO and its sister organization, the European Union, thereby ever more losing her reputation as neutral country. At BENE, we would like to stop this trend and bring Switzerland back to what she was for hundreds of years, a Switzerland of “good offices”.
