This harrowing incident occurred in Porter, Texas, a small community near Houston. The father acted swiftly when his 15-year-old daughter failed to return from a routine walk with her dog.

The situation began around midday when the girl went out for her walk. Concerned about her absence, her parents immediately utilized the location-tracking capabilities on her phone, which they had set up through parental controls. The father was able to trace his daughter’s phone signal to a secluded, wooded area about two miles from their home.

When he arrived at the location, the father found his daughter along with her dog inside a maroon pickup truck belonging to a 23-year-old man, Giovanni Rosales Espinoza. Reports from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office indicate that Espinoza allegedly threatened the girl with a knife and forced her into the vehicle.

In a tense moment, the father helped his daughter escape from the truck and promptly called law enforcement. Deputies responded to the family’s home at approximately 4:50 p.m., where they learned about the situation. “Upon arrival, deputies learned that the victim had taken her dog out for a walk and when she did not return at her usual time, her parents became concerned,” the Sheriff’s Office noted in a statement.
