Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has taken a strong stance against allegations that she leaked President Donald Trump’s location to far-left protesters. Greene rebuffed the claims on social media, stating, “Anyone saying this is true is absolutely lying!!!” Her response highlights the seriousness of the accusation, framing it as a “dangerous false accusation” that she vehemently denies.

The incident at the center of the controversy occurred on September 9, when Trump was dining at Joe’s Seafood, a well-known restaurant just a stone’s throw from the White House. Accompanying him were key figures such as Vice President J.D. Vance and War Secretary Pete Hegseth. As they settled in, they were confronted by members of Code Pink, a protest group shouting “Free Palestine.” Greene’s defense rests heavily on the premise that proper security protocols were not followed by the Secret Service, raising questions about the protection measures in place for a sitting president.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna voiced her concerns, asking on social media whether someone had leaked Trump’s location and why the protesters were allowed so close to him. Luna demanded accountability, noting the lax security and illustrating a wider anxiety about the safety of high-profile figures.

According to a report from Axios, the White House allegedly informed the Secret Service that Greene might have been involved in the leak. Trump’s aides reportedly regard the incident as a turning point in his relationship with Greene. Despite the tension, Trump maintained his composure during the protest, even smiling at the activists. However, insiders suggest he felt embarrassed and worried about his safety.

Greene stated that she only recommended the restaurant and provided the contact number to Trump’s team, asserting that she had “ZERO knowledge” of his reservation details. She expressed her frustration regarding the protest and the assertions made about her involvement, emphasizing that it was the restaurant and the Secret Service who failed to provide the expected security measures.

Greene highlighted the failure to implement standard protocols, such as sweeping the restaurant or checking attendees with metal detectors. She argued for more scrutiny regarding the Secret Service’s lapse in ensuring safety instead of focusing on her alleged wrongdoing. “Why didn’t Secret Service secure the restaurant BEFORE he went in?” she questioned, demanding answers about the apparent breach of security.

The fallout could have larger implications for Greene, particularly her connection to Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin, which the White House views as problematic. Greene’s quick move to engage legal counsel indicates her intention to battle these accusations. She responded passionately, declaring, “This is an ABSOLUTE LIE, A DANGEROUS LIE,” and reiterated her commitment to never do anything to jeopardize anyone’s safety.

This incident raises questions of personal loyalty and trust within Trump’s circle while reflecting broader issues surrounding security protocols and the relationship between public officials and protest groups. From the lack of sufficient security to the intense scrutiny of Greene’s actions, this situation adds another layer to the complexities facing those in the political spotlight.
