If you can’t say you love America while competing on behalf of our nation then you shouldn’t be at the Olympics.

Olympic athletes bearing witness to their government's moral failures exemplifies the highest purpose of free speech—not as mere self-expression, but as civic duty demanding the courage to speak truth when silence would be complicity.

Representing a country in sport is not the same thing as pledging loyalty to a fascist regime.

Everyone I listened said how proud they were to represent their country.
They just want to be disassociated with the rotten Trump administration.
So don't try and deflect it into lack of patriotism, because its not, they just don't agree with how the country is being governed.

@KatieMiller Team USA earned the right to compete by their athletic excellence in competition. No one has the obligation to support the Trump Administration. Loving America and loving Trump are two completely different things. You shouldn't tell athletes what to think or say.

Maybe if your administration didn't embarrass us all over the world, they wouldn't need to say anything. Now, zip it and support our Olympic athletes. You're a disgrace.

You can also love the United States and publicly state you don’t support the government, it’s called the 1st Amendment 😉
