Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by Adpathway“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough blasted President Donald Trump for a somewhat ignored comment about parents that would have caused a right-wing “meltdown” if former President Barack Obama had said it.
Trump told autoworkers at a rally earlier this week, “I’ve done more for you than your parents, OK? Your parents are good. I’m not gonna knock your parents. But I have been better to you than your parents. That I can tell you. And they would agree with me.”
He ended the declaration with a laugh.

“Where do we get to a point where a politician, the cult of personality becomes so strong, that a politician feels free to say, ‘I’ve done more for you than your own parents have’?” Scarborough complained. “Madness.”
Noting that he saw a commentator say that if Barack Obama had made a similar comment, “Fox News would be running with it 10 days straight ... there would have been a meltdown there. But again, Donald Trump says it, and it’s ho-hum.”
“Joe, there’s a Trump discount, right,” said Jonathan Martin, Politico’s politics bureau chief. “It’s just dismissed as somebody who is doing shtick. ... And I think because of that he benefits. By the way, that’s been the story for 10 years. ...
“I think what his supporters would say is, ‘Come on, man, he’s just joking around, he’s just doing material up there.’ But here’s the thing with Trump. He always does the ‘just kidding, oh, I didn’t really mean that.’
“That’s always his crutch.”
