Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayCNN’s chief data analyst, Harry Enten, on Thursday flagged how Donald Trump’s polling numbers continue to tank on what was possibly the key issue that got him re-elected in 2024: inflation.
“The numbers are laughably bad,” Enten said, adding: “They are laughably bad, but no one is laughing about these.”
Enten noted how, in a new CNN/SSRS poll. Trump’s net approval rating on inflation is currently -50 points. It comes as inflation remains high, and the economy expands at what’s been described as a sluggish pace.
“I looked back at every single poll before President Trump that asked about inflation and the approval rating of the president. There has never been a president before President Trump who had ratings this bad,” said Enten.
“Honestly, that is insane,” said anchor Sara Sidner.
“Laughably bad, you just don’t ever see numbers like this,” replied Enten.
Enten noted further poll results that played into the overall picture, with 70% of Americans believing the country is on the wrong track in tackling the cost-of-living crisis, and even 50% of Republicans thinking so too.
