Gavin Newsom didn’t give Donald Trump’s dozing off a rest on Sunday ― and he mocked the president on other fronts as well.

After the White House released a photo of the president saluting at the Army-Navy football game with the overline “Commander-in-Chief,” the California governor’s press office replied with a presidential job title of its own.

“Sleeper-in-Chief” read the line above a photo of Trump seemingly snoozing recently during a meeting.

Reports have been giving the nod to the president’s apparent naps at inopportune moments.

Newsom and Co. didn’t ignore the Christmas spirit, however. Linking to a report that a company backed by Donald Trump Jr.’s venture capital company got a $620 million contract from the Defense Department to increase the domestic magnet supply, the governor’s team slightly tweaked the words of “Jingle Bells.”

Sing along with us, using the tune of Jingle Bells:

Verse 1
Grift grift grift grift grift grift grift grift
Grift grift grift grift grift grift
Grift grift grift grift grift grift grift
Grift grift grift grift

Chorus
Grift grift grift grift
Grift grift grift grift
Grift grift… https://t.co/mbBlP34O08

Newsom also thoughtfully reminded the president that the deadline for releasing all of the Epstein files is just a few days away. “1-2-3 release ’em!” singer Neace Robinson says in a music video clip shared by Newsom’s crew.

The president has not been accused of wrongdoing, but his about-face in blocking the release raised suspicions after he pledged to make them available. An overwhelming bipartisan vote in Congress has made the release a reality.

Newsom, who’s in the conversation for a 2028 presidential run, also called out the awkward insensitivity of Trump when he responded to Sunday’s Brown University mass shooting with “things can happen.”

“No words,” went the Newsom team reply.

Newsom hasn’t let up in trolling Trump and his own social media assaults.
