Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDonald Trump’s press conference on Tuesday marking the first anniversary of his second term drew sharp criticism, including from Jake Tapper.
The CNN anchor described the president’s appearance as “a marathon rambling, at times incoherent, possibly unsettling White House news briefing,” noting it ran just shy of two hours.
“For any supporters of his looking for reassurance that the Trump doing wild 1 a.m. social media posts is not the same Trump in the White House,” Tapper added, “they probably were not reassured.”
Tapper said the event featured “plenty of frankly bizarre, rambling moments.”
It was a view echoed widely on social media, where commenters labeled the president as “genuinely insane” and “clearly unwell.”
Others described the press conference as “excruciating” and “a complete disaster.”
Anyone watching Donald Trump’s press conference? He’s completely deranged. It’s like he’s drunk
— BafaRenitez (@BafaRenitez__) January 20, 2026What was supposed to be a Press Conference turned out to be a 50 minute monologue. Trump is now talking about mental institutions and how his mother once told him he could be a great baseball player. Can someone give him a medal for being the greatest baseball player before he… pic.twitter.com/9mFs02l3RN
— African (@ali_naka) January 21, 2026This Trump press conference is the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen. He is genuinely insane.
— Paul S Edwards (@LovelessAge) January 20, 2026He cannot hold a line of thought.
He cannot land a point.
He cannot communicate seriousness.
And yet global markets, alliances and security are being forced to react in real time to this kind of performance.
A superpower led by a man delivering incoherent childhood anecdotes… pic.twitter.com/bfBx19oF6z
Trump knows he’s in trouble politically, probably doesn’t realize how incoherent he sounds. Starts the press conference on defense trying to justify the violence and brutality we are seeing in MN, attacking Biden and revising the 2020 election lie.
— Karen Finney (@finneyk) January 20, 2026If Biden or Reagan had conducted a rambling, incoherent press conference like this, there would have been a rash of pieces about his cognitive decline and mental acuity. With Trump, it’s just another day at the office.
— Nick Bryant (@NickBryantNY) January 20, 2026This Trump press conference is excruciating. It’s like listening to an old drunk in a pub tell a tale. He knows he’s on tv right? He’s just talking absolute bollocks.
— Gemma Bailey (@Gemsie2k) January 20, 2026This Trump press conference is a complete disaster. He’s rambling incoherently and flipping through a picture book of “accomplishments” in front of the press. He’s clearly unwell. It’s getting really bad.
— Harry Sisson (@harryjsisson) January 20, 2026Donald Trump could not point out a “normal person” if they punched him in nose! This press conference is bullshit!! More gaslighting, more lies, more rampant blatant dangerous xenophobia! Yes, go take the murderers out and deport them! Sadly, that is not what Trump’s thug ICE…
— Maria Cardona (@MariaTCardona) January 20, 2026Donald Trump has spent the first 15 minutes of his year in review press conference flipping through pictures and mumbling to himself. I really have never seen anything like it. https://t.co/5kMzqrOFnO
— Aaron Parnas (@AaronParnas) January 20, 2026Watching and listening to this this press briefing and I can’t fathom how anyone still believes Trump is fit for office. The stone cold silence from the “press” in the room is deafening as Trump aimlessly rambles with exception of some soft, nervous laughter at his weird jokes. pic.twitter.com/G5BoE1YGUE
— Surfer Dude 🌊 🏄♂️ (@dudeonthebay) January 20, 2026He's been rambling incoherently for 50 minutes straight. Right now he's talking about mental institutions and how his mom once told him he could be a great baseball player. He's completely gone. pic.twitter.com/i6AAQbhVFM
— Daractenus (@Daractenus) January 20, 2026Trump gave a press conference on his achievements. Here is my take on his speech and the reality of his true achievements:
Lies exaggerations and bent versions of real events. Nothing substantial achieved, prices up, tariffs causing problems worldwide as well as on the domestic…
