Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayAnother day, another place for Donald Trump’s name to appear.
This time: U.S. paper currency.
On Thursday, the Treasury Department announced that bills printed from this summer will bear the president’s signature to mark America’s 250th anniversary.
It’s the first time a sitting president’s signature will be featured on U.S. cash.
The signature of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will also still be included.
In a statement, Bessent claimed “there is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S. dollar bills bearing his name, and it is only appropriate that this historic currency be issued at the Semiquincentennial.”
Critics on social media, however, weren’t convinced.
Some branded the move “disgusting,” narcissistic and yet more “vainglory” from Trump.
“Signing the hyperinflation himself. Amazing,” wrote another, referencing the cost-of-living crisis that critics say has worsened in recent weeks amid Trump’s Iran war.
It’s a good thing, I rarely have cash on me because I never want to have currency with Donald Trump’s fucking signature on it!
— Christopher Webb (@cwebbonline) March 27, 2026Given what Trump has done to our economy, finances, and falling currency…he should absolutely put his signature on bills. And he should also add sh*t stains. #TrumpEffect
— David Shuster (@DavidShuster) March 27, 2026He’s a f***ing malignant narcissist lunatic. 🙄
— Hissyspit (@Hissyspit) March 26, 2026This just keeps getting more and more ridiculous. This is as bad as Stalin’s personality cult.

— Richard Blade (@richardblade) March 27, 2026trump plans to add his signature to US currency - this “person’s” EGO KNOWS NO BOUNDS!
Disgusting.
Signing the hyperinflation himself. Amazing
— + (@kyle_behymer) March 26, 2026Whatever makes him happy, hope MAGA will be equally happy to see the next Dem president slap his name on paper money during his term 👍
— SnappyTurtle 🇺🇸 (@SnappyTurtle73) March 26, 2026Well that’s one way to devalue the dollar.
— Bart Evans (@bart_evans) March 26, 2026More vainglory. I want the next Democrat President to issue replacement currency and burn all these notes with Trump signature in public https://t.co/w6yYZGbmEt
— Ram (@ramprasad_c) March 26, 2026Just disgusting!
US paper currency will bear Trump's signature to mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, a first for a sitting president, while deleting the Treasurer of the United States' signature from U.S. money for the first time in 165 years.…
