Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayMelania Trump found herself on the receiving end of mockery and criticism on Wednesday after sharing a platitude about peace while her husband, President Donald Trump, ramps up U.S. attacks on Iran.
The first lady posted on X, formerly Twitter, a line from a speech she delivered at a United Nations Security Council meeting she presided over on Monday.
It read: “Enduring peace will be achieved when knowledge and understanding are fully valued within all societies.”
Critics on social media suggested the first lady should tell her husband the same thing.
The reported death toll from the conflict, which has escalated across the Middle East following Iranian retaliation to U.S.-Israeli strikes, now stands around 900. Six U.S. service members have been killed, and the president has admitted “there will likely be more” casualties because “that’s the way it is.”
Have you given your husband the same letter you wrote to Putin about children being bombed ?
— MA LE BO (@Melo_Malebo) March 4, 2026Do you and your husband even talk?
Because he clearly doesn't understand this
Maybe you should tell your husband that
— just trying to get by (@BoratDahmer) March 4, 2026Could you please get president Trump to stop the war and have peace talks
— Benita Regardso aka catniss (@benita_regardso) March 4, 2026You can't preach peace when you manufacture artilleries 🤔
— Patrick James (@jamesp_patrick) March 5, 2026What a ridiculous statement! If you had any decency, you would ensure that your husband immediately ends this illegal attack on Iran!
