White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday claimed that President Donald Trump is a man of his word.

Critics, however, begged to differ.

Appearing on Fox News, Leavitt praised Trump’s handling of the war in Iran and slammed the media for reports indicating the president’s claims of progress don’t match reality.

“It’s all a bunch of nonsense. They are rooting against this president and therefore our country, and it’s really despicable to watch,” she said, while insisting the administration is “on the brink of a deal” with Iran.

She said if no deal is made, however, Trump is “unafraid” to use the options available to him.

“And President Trump has proven before: He does not bluff,” she said. “When he makes a promise, he follows through on it, and I’m not sure why, after 10 years of covering this president, the American media still cannot understand when President Trump says he’s going to do something, he’s going to do it.”

Trump has a long history of making promises and then simply ignoring them, including vows to end the war in Ukraine on his first day, release his income tax returns, unveil a detailed new health care plan and get Mexico to pay for his “big beautiful wall” on the border.

Critics were quick to point all that out and more:

Really? Ten years ago Trump said he was going to build his border wall and Mexico was going to pay for it. Never happened.

Trump says a lot of stuff — mostly big fat lies. https://t.co/5o7LlW2PY5

Like release his tax returns?
Lower grocery prices on day one?
Release the Epstein files?
Lower prescription prices by 1000%?
Release a healthcare plan?
No new wars?
Lower utility prices?
Drain the swamp?
Lower the deficit?
Create jobs? https://t.co/rrZQ1zBG2w

ObamaCare replacement in two weeks.
Ukraine peace before he even took office.
Eliminating the debt in his first term.
Higher taxes on the rich (remember that one?!)
Capping credit card interest at 10%
"Drain the Swamp," yet massive corruption.
Is it STILL Infrastructure Week? https://t.co/CYfMmToW96

Ummm... Trump said he would...
🔸Release the Epstein files
🔸Refrain from starting wars
🔸Disclose his taxes
🔸Create a healthcare plan
🔸Make Mexico pay for a border wall
🔸Lower prices for gas, groceries, etc.
🔸Eliminate the debt
And much more that he never did. https://t.co/X9S9OIzbsX
