Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayPoor Carville. His stock in trade has always been the shock factor combined with that scowling, bespectacled snakehead appearance.
For decades, he's been able to screw up his face in a snarl - wrinkled so bad it damn near jams his glasses into his forehead and down through the bridge of his nose - and let fly with any outrageous pronouncement that most times had some kernel of truth in it germane to his party.
I have always thought he was pretty entertaining, watching as a disinterested observer. He wasn't one of my party's guys - woof. In his real heyday, as buttoned-down Oxfordy boys club as the GOP was, he'd have never cut the mustard.
But his Cajun schtick is completely authentic and unapologetic, even when it's outrageous and over-the-top offensive at times.
If Democrats were smart, they listened and picked out what he was trying to get across to them, like Bill Clinton did when Carville uttered the immortal line:
IT'S THE ECONOMY, STUPID!
Now, in the age of podcasts and remote interviews, the wizened, shrunken, saltier Carville is still in demand, not only for his colorful epithets and foul-mouthed Gollum-like rants against Trump and Republicans...
...but for the predator heart that still beats in that sunken chest covered by an LSU sweatshirt.
Carville can size up a political situation in an instant, intuitively dissect the working parts from the flotsam, and unabashedly call anyone - and I do mean anyone - involved an...um...egghead for being part of it or even thinking it would work to begin with. That's his gift.
Or it kind of was.
Maybe it's time for James to spend more quality moments in the porch rocking chair without a camera in his face, or at least have notes about what he's said in the past few months, so he's not looking like a contradictory old piece of leather that suddenly grew teeth and threatens children in his front yard.
I haven't checked the phases of the moon this week - that might be an explanation, too - but Carville seems to have had an epiphany of sorts. A 'get out of my party' come to the Donkey moment that has him confronting the fact that the recent Democrat-by-ballot-only winners in New York City and elsewhere are a really unattractive group of young psychopaths.
Perhaps they are not even good for the Democratic Party in general.
Cpl Cueball was on Al Hunt's podcast when he was asked about it, and he began to wax poetic about 'his party' and how he doesn't recognize' who these people are.
He really seemed shocked by how vile these fresh-faced newcomers are, to the point where he flat out suggested initiating a 'schism.'
[As always with him, LANGUAGE WARNING]
💥NEW: James Carville: “I actually do think it's time for Democrats to talk the S word: ‘Schism’ ... there's just some sh*t that I can't be in the same tent with ... I'm done ... I don't want to be in a political party that denies the right of the state of Israel to exist.” pic.twitter.com/O5ATLyvXwV

His comments about the NYC bunch were particularly inflammatory.
Carville says he wouldn’t seat Mamdani-backed Avila Chevalier in caucus: ‘She’s not a Democrat’
Democratic strategist James Carville said he wouldn’t place Darializa Avila Chevalier, the Democratic nominee for New York’s 13th Congressional District, in the House Democratic Caucus if she wins in November.
“They should not seat her in the caucus. Her views are totally against anything that any Democrat has. We believe in pluralism,” Carville told NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas on Wednesday.
Carville added later that Avila Chevalier, a democratic socialist who was backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) in her race, “is not a Democrat.”
The educated elite of the twenty-three-year-old progressive class sniffed back in haughty disdain.
THE 'PUNDIT' CLASS? *spits delicately*
...Justice Democrats, the progressive organization which tapped Avila Chevalier to make her bid, said in a statement to The Hill on Thursday that “Democratic voters elected Darializa to be their Democratic nominee for Congress because they believed in her vision to deliver an affordability agenda — the emotions of the pundit class don’t change that.”
It's gotten so bad that even Carville's spirit animal is disgusted... pic.twitter.com/igxBSZ12cx
— bigwoods🇺🇸 (@bigwoods86) June 26, 2026Naturally, this has blown up into a national debate, with headlines of 'Carville says...!!!' and it makes me wonder if that wasn't his intention all along. He couldn't care less if he gets invited to cocktail parties - he's no George Stephanopoulos social circuit gadfly.
Carville is a cuthroat political operative who will throw verbal bombs to steer a conversation where he thinks it needs to go when he believes Democratic leaders are pussy footing around the issue and perilously close to destroying the party's chances of taking the midterms completely.
What do I mean?
Contrast Carville, who probably has more eyeballs on him in media exposure any given week than Hakeem Jeffries has in a year, with Jeffries on these new potential Congressional recruits.
Hakeem Jeffries says “we’re in a moment of great extremism."
Wow, he really called out the rising DSA wing of his party.
Not really.
He’s talking about the need to work with them against Republicans. pic.twitter.com/I6n4Q0ByTP
Carville looks at that, and his reptilian brain is thinking, 'That's great for NYC ears, but the midterms are about the COUNTRY VOTING, stupid!'
Your average news viewer sees the minority leader and former Speaker of the House cravenly sucking up to the socialist Bernie wing, and that paints the entire Democratic Party with the Commie Mamdani brush for the whole country.
Carville thinks, HOLY CRAP. What are these morons doing?
And he causes a dust-up to force someone in the party hierarchy to start talking about just how antithetical the professed beliefs of these latest primary winners are to what were Democratic Party values not two years ago.
But here's where James needs notes to keep his act straight, because I, like Pepperidge Farm, sometimes remember things.
One of them was James Carville endorsing a Nazi.
[NSFW Language]
James Carville backs Graham Platner: “We’ve got a fucked up guy who could be 100x more fucked up than he is and he’d never be as fucked up as what we’ve got in Washington. This country is about to lose it, the whole goddamn thing. We gotta win this. If we got a person that’s… pic.twitter.com/16RiHAS8iV
— Marco Foster (@MarcoFoster_) June 5, 2026So...what changed? Platner is no friend of Israel; he's a flat-out anti-Semite goon with a trail of dirty - no. Filthy laundry and deviant tracks a mile wide and long.
Why is Platner okay, and these NYC mutants are not?
I don't think that Carville thought the two incumbents would lose.
One was a five-term congressman beloved in his district, and the other was a nepo baby moron who was a useful tool for progressive soundbites. And incumbents normally are hard to take out, but these two got smoked by a combination of Commie Mamdani's star power and a surge of voting twenty-somethings angry that their hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loans bought them worthless degrees for city living.
And Carville helped make the very monster he's now trying to virtuously drive a stake through the heart of.
The Nation is calling Carville's reaction 'loserdom,' and is giddy with excitement.
Establishment Democrats Are Embracing Loserdom
Establishment Democrats are panicking as voters in their party move sharply to the left. Politico reports, “Leftist candidates swept a trio of deep-blue House seats in New York City, a seismic victory that toppled two incumbents, including the powerful chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. And after a string of progressive battleground wins in earlier primaries, moderates are making it very clear that the left’s winning streak is potentially just starting.”
The victories in New York this week could partially be explained by local factors. Mayor Zohran Mamdani is popular, and he endorsed a slate of progressive challengers that successfully won upset battles against rivals with heavy backing from the establishment. Mamdani’s own surprise victory was powered by the organizational strength of the Democratic Socialists of America, which has emerged as a formidable machine in New York politics.
But the rise of the left is not just a New York story. As Politico notes, “Progressives have romped through Democrats’ spring primaries, notching a series of wins across both safe and competitive districts and upending House and Senate Democrats’ battleplans.” In Maine’s Democratic Senate primary, Graham Platner, an incendiary anti-system candidate, handily defeated Janet Mills, the governor of the state who had been singled out for support by the party’s Senate leader, Chuck Schumer.
Establishment Democrats are not responding to these defeats with anything resembling grace or equanimity. In fact, they are freaking out, sometimes even openly threatening to tear the party apart rather than work in a big tent that includes a robust wing of democratic socialists....
Yeah, I'd be careful breaking out the prosecco just yet, kiddies.
Part of Carville's rant was about the 'big tent' and how these newcomers wanted no part of 'working in it' from the get-go. Democrats and ballot access were merely a means to an end, and not a party they'd 'joined.'
Carville says nothing that is targeted in these moments, and he's already caused the stir I am sure he was aiming for.
The question is, can Schumer, Jeffries, and the others receive the message and grow some you-know-whats?
Nancy Pelosi might have kept hers in her purse, but you sure knew she had them when she needed them.
Sometimes it takes a snek from the lowly pundit class to give everyone a rude wake-up call.
