As obsessed as the left has become with promoting antisemitism and defaming Israel, it's still difficult to attribute every evil in the world to Israeli perfidy. 

Some things, such as the depraved behavior of Islamists in places like Pakistan and Afghanistan, are too tenuously connected to Jews for anybody to buy the argument that they are responsible. 

Nor is it possible to make the argument against fossil fuels and air conditioning by any conceivable reference to Jews, and the green energy scam depends on convincing people that Summer wasn't a thing before oil was struck in Pennsylvania and cars started hitting the road. 

So the left still needs climate change. And while some people are motivated by trying to save Gaia, others are motivated by compassion for victims. 

Back in 2024, I wrote about one version of this absurd line of attack. Climate change, it turned out, was causing a decline in income for transgender prostitutes in Indonesia. 

It's rain, you see. It cuts down on traffic. Not that Indonesia didn't suffer rainy seasons before cars, but rain is now even worse, hurting the spread of venereal diseases. 

Well, the climate activists are at it again, only this time blaming climate change for the increase in child marriages in Asia. 

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation is trying to sell this line to the world, relaying the propaganda being put out by (of course) an NGO looking for an increase of funding, which they apparently hope to get by pulling the heartstrings of governments and granting organizations that spend gobs of money funding climate hysteria.

Now I don't know about you, but it seems to me that any increase in child marriages has more to do with the spread of Islamic practices and the increasing radicalization of Islamists than increased rain or drought. But, apparently, that is a naive or even Islamophobic position to take. 

If there is an overall increase at all, outside of specific countries such as Afghanistan. The UN reports a decline in many regions, with a massive decline in India in particular. 

Not so long ago, the BBC almost normalized child marriages by blaming them on the poverty that Afghans face, and not the fact that this was a common practice in the culture until it was banned under the American occupation. As the Taliban took over, selling girls to older men to marry has come back with a vengeance. 

Climate change had nothing to do with that. Barbarism did. 

It's politically incorrect to say such a thing, and the wonderful thing about blaming climate change for the rapid increase in selling kids as sex slaves is that you can pin the blame on Westerners who so selfishly burn oil. Not that Westerners are the major contributors to CO2 in the atmosphere anymore, but that is a detail. 

No, it's all our fault for using air conditioning in the summer and heating our homes in the winter. If only we drove EVs (not Teslas!) and sweat more in the summer, these girls might be saved from slavery. 

And don't forget: send your check to Plan International, the "charity" that published the report claiming that "Climate change is now believed to be a leading contributor to more frequent and younger nuptials." It's ABC-approved.
