Orgo-Life the new way to the future

  Advertising by Adpathway

Please post any problems you find with the site in this sticky thread. I'll try to get to them, and I'll mark them as fixed as I go.

I'll edit this list as I go

  • Chat and Activity Stream use a lot of bandwidth
  • Menu structure is inconsistent between Home and Forum
  • Dark themes need appropriate colors for EX/BUNK tags, and chat (BlackEnd lacks colors for chat, but Black Abyss does not
  • Changing Avatars does not take effect for a while
  • Need indication of post being edited

When version 1.2 of Xenforo is released:

  • Readable font size for mobile devices.

Fixed:

  • Double posts in Conversations (fixed for Posts)

Changing the background colour from dark text on white to light text on dark is easier on the eyes and uses less power.

That might be possible per user. I'll investigate.

Under settings->preferences, you can change the style. I've just added one for now (and it needs the logo fixing). Have a look here, and see if there are other styles you like:

Personally I prefer the black text on white background look.

I do also, I find the white on black hard on my eyes. They are not as young as they used to be.

Unfortunately it does not work too well with [EX] and [BUNK] tags as I hard-wired those numbers. I'll tweak it at some point.

Is it possible to put the "activity stream" tab on the home page as well?

Yeah, that was the "Menu structure is inconsistent between Home and Forum" bug :)

There's a 'BUNK' tag?
I've gone for the sepia/grey version, works fine.

where am I??

I go away for a couple of internet free weeks...and look what happens...I get retrograded back to a "new member"

Seriously though...it looks nice...still trying to figure it all out...

Was there a thread where you announced the format change? What prompted it?

Can't seem to change avatar

2.7 inches (200 pixels) x 2.08 inches (150 pixels) @ 72 DPI, jpeg

Can't seem to change avatar

Do you have 'delete current avatar' selected? if so unselect it.

tried several ways.....using .gif, and refreshing.....nothing worked.

I see your avatar now, so something worked.

There it is....I see it now
Famous Nam June Paik art installation....(Buddha TV, 1974) Closed Circuit video installation with bronze sculpture

There's a caching problem with avatars, they take a while to change.

so allow it to take affect.....change it and then refresh. Easy.....just need patience.

I'm seeing the 'dy' avatar, is that the new one? I thought it was old.

Anyway to add edit time/date when you edit posts?

Is the post reporting open to abuse? If I report someone multiple times just because I'm trolling them or disagree with what they say will they automatically be banned after a number of reports?
Perhaps the 'banned' assignation could be split into categories such as 'temporarily banned', 'banned for failing to get to the point', 'banned for impoliteness', etc...

I think Mick bans based on the report and if he thinks it needs a ban.

I was wondering about this also. Could there be a distinction between permanent and temporary bans: e.g. suspended vs. banned ?

I can't post any images.

I'm using the "Upload a File" button and get the following error message

The following error occurred
There was a problem uploading your file.

What happened to the "Recent-activity"-Function (former called "Spy")?

And the chat also makes some problems, I wanted to ask this there, but it didn´t work..

I did an upgrade which has unfortunately broken some features. I'll be getting them back asap.

Chat works now, and can be used as an alternative to "Activity Stream"

The site refreshes now on every page every 20 seconds rather than just on the recent activity page. Is there a way I can opt out of this to save my data usage from going up?

It's a part of the new "Alert count in tab" thing. It's a very small amount of data. But I'll see if I can make it optional.

Okay I'll see if I can measure it and maybe it's not a problem.

Okay I'll see if I can measure it and maybe it's not a problem.

How much would be a problem? Looks like it's about 0.5K in each direction, so 1K, or about 0.12MB per hour.

That will be acceptable. :)

Jolly good. I'll just leave it for now then.

Is there a way to make it so a thread you have zero interest in, doesn't make the thread name on the forum page change color indicating a new reply has been made?

Not currently. Sorry.

Threads change colour? I didn't even notice. May be the forum colour scheme I'm using.

I keep getting logged off, and I've gotten an error called 522, I think, a few times.

I find it a little bit confusing that in the Thread-list the number of pages of a thread only will be displayed when you put the mouse-cursor over it...

Example:

abload.de_img_temptnjh5.jpg

The Thread "Photos of Planes and Contrails" has 4 Pages. BEcause my Mouse selected this, the links to the pages are displayed.

Other long threads like "Advocating violence..." or "Pre 1995 Contrails..." doesn´t display their number of pages. By clicking fast on a thread you automatical click the thread-title and get the first page without knowing hat there are several pages.

And a lot of Threads here are full of big pictures, especially on the first page. Bad for People with bandwith-problems.
