'Violent treason', as I call community criminals waging war on Black people, struck again in the city where I started my 'safety creation'.

A sister who hasn't even lived in this dwelling for six months was almost murdered recently by a barrage of gunfire!: 83-year-old woman’s home shot over 80 times

Local police, with their usual tendency to deemphasize anything involving Black crime victims, called it an 'aggravated assault with property damage'.

It was attempted murder and had she been a wealthy campaign donor in a high income, low melanin enclave, the police chief and mayor would immediately hold press conferences declaring no stone unturned to capture the perpetrators.

• Definition: Actions intended to intimidate the civilian population, influence government policy through intimidation, or affect government conduct.
• Activities Covered: Includes unlawful use of force, violence, or threats against property, infrastructure, or people.

Since the attempted murder victim isn't from the donor class, silence so far.

I'm confident their crusading sheriff will respond to this act of war as he has numerous others overlooked by area peers in policing and politics.

This outrage reminds me of when the home of a college buddy, historian and advocate was shot up years ago not far from where I grew up. Another attempted murder of Black people not classified as such that would've gone unheralded except for his social media reporting.

While leftist cities where I currently 'create safety' downplay crime against Black people out of misguided sympathy toward violent traitors, conservative ones like where I grew up dismiss Black crime victims as unimportant.

That's why I reject both left and right political versions of 'safety' because neither ideology prioritizes our safety.

My thoughts are with that 83-year-old homeowner who was nearly murdered in such a heinous manner.
