Ayahuasca is rapidly growing in popularity around the world — yet much of what people believe about it is misunderstood. This documentary explores the deeper reality of this powerful Amazonian medicine through direct experience and Indigenous wisdom. As ayahuasca spreads beyond its origins, many encounter it outside of its traditional context. Within Indigenous Amazonian traditions, however, ayahuasca is not simply an experience — it is a sacred medicine approached with preparation, guidance, and deep respect. Within these traditions, ayahuasca is not seen as a substance, but as a teacher—one that can bring people into direct contact with their conditioning, their fears, and a deeper, more open awareness. In this film, I travel to the Amazon rainforest to learn directly from the traditions that have worked with ayahuasca for generations. Through immersion in these teachings and practices, the film offers a grounded and authentic perspective—while also highlighting the importance of preparation, guidance, and integration, which are often missing in modern contexts.
